German Protestants for the first time the lead is a woman. Ecclesiastical parliament elected on Tuesday in Ulm (Baden-Württemberg) Hanover Ms Bishop Margot Kaessmann President of the Council of the Evangelical Church in Germany.
51-year-old Kaessmann, divorced mother of four children, covers the dignity of the 67-year Huberze Berlin Bishop Wolfgang, who is retiring. Kaessmann declares its willingness to acquire more people to faith through the Church going with the times. Evangelical Church in Germany is a national community of 22 Lutheran churches, Reformed and united, bringing together more than 25 million faithful.
