Young men consider women of normal weight, and build a more attractive and healthy than those of less than average - study authors said in Scotland at the University of St Andrews students aged 18-26 years.
As reported the BBC News website team from the university lab Perception Lab has gathered information from 84 students on their health and took photos of their faces. Photographs showing followed a group of male students, asking rated health, attractiveness and importance of those shown. It turned out that the girl, whose weight was in average scale, were considered more attractive and healthy than those with underweight and overweight. The study also showed that even people at a young age having overweight problems plague health - colds and flu happens with them frequently and lasts longer, have higher pressure and thrive more antibiotics. Steering test prof. David Perret stresses that participants are not considered to be the most attractive girl of 'size zero', but preferred to those of standard weight. - This is a clear signal to all girls who think that they must be underweight to be attractive - the researcher pointed out. Results of the study published in the online scientific magazine "Perception".
